Fraunces Tavern Museum displays a wide-ranging collection of Revolutionary War era objects and sponsors an active calendar of exhibitions, speaker programs, tours and other special events, on-site and online. This past year, we celebrated important additions to our Museum, including a new permanent exhibition - Governing the Nation from Fraunces Tavern - to commemorate the use of Fraunces Tavern from 1785 to 1788 as the Nation’s first executive office building, housing offices of the Departments of Foreign Affairs and War as well as the Board of Treasury. We also opened a new special exhibition, Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Popular Culture, to introduce new audiences to the history of the American Revolution.

We need your support to help us continue to fulfill our mission not only through the programs and exhibitions above, but also to maintain our historic complex of buildings which incur significant ongoing maintenance costs.
